If you are inactive for longer than 10 minutes, Outlook will automatically set your status to “away”. This way, Outlook can show other people your availability. Outlook will show a “Away” status after 10 minutes of inactivity. To show this folder again, simply right-click the folder in the list, and select Show This Folder in the context menu. You can also hide the dot by right-clicking one of the folders in the folder list and selecting Hide This Folder in the context menu. Under the Outlook Panes section, uncheck the “Show folder list” option and click OK. In the Options window, select the Mail section. To do this, open Outlook, go to the File tab, and select Options.
